ACOUSTIC ROOTS WORKSHOP SERIES with
MARK DVORAK & Instructors from the
Old Town School of Folk Music

October 2008 welcomed our second season of workshops with Mark which are held on Wednesday evenings about once a month. A new season means new topics and new instructors from OTS, as well as three workshops running simultaneously during the evening. Each workshop night will conclude with a short jam session and sing-along for all attendees in the main room, Fellowship Hall. Bring your instruments, your voices, and your friends and don't miss this fun! Please note: This workshop series is for adults, 18 and older.

NEW FACES!

Also known as The Pickin' Bubs, OTS  instructors Peggy Browning, Louie Mitchell and Maura Lally (in photo at left) join this years' workshop series. Maura & Peg will team-teach basic guitar workshops, and Lou will instruct all those interested in discovering, or re-discovering, the fiddle. Mark will continue with Acoustic Blues Guitar, Finger Picking Guitar, and two new workshops, Fret Board Theory and Improvising Guitar.
PLEASE NOTE: All workshops are $25 per person and run from 7-9pm. Recommended for adults 18 and older. REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (see below for details) No payment required until evening of the workshop!

SOMEPLACE ELSE
CONCERTS &
ACOUSTIC ROOTS
WORKSHOP SERIES

A few times throughout the year on Saturday evenings, the Someplace Else Concert Series steps into Fellowship Hall at Highlands Presbyterian Church and provides an evening of live music performed by singer/songwriters from across the country. Established in the fall of 2003, “SPE” or “the Coffeehouse” as it’s often and fondly called, provides an evening of great music, great fellowship, and even homemade snacks during intermission.
What’s not to like?!

Take note of the concert dates (see left) and join us for another great line up!

Also, be sure to check out the Acoustic Roots Workshop Series further down the page. Veteran Old Town School instructor, Mark Dvorak, and his fellow teachers provide a good time of learning and sharing music. See below for more information.
