MENDENHALL MINISTRIES
On God's Side of the Tracks Most southern towns historically have often had one thing in common: a set of railroad tracks dividing them, economically and racially. There often was a spiritual separation, too. The subtle but strong message was that one side of town was good and the other bad.
Jesus Christ has never let such artificial barriers stop Him. For Him, there has never been a good or bad side of the tracks. Just people in need of His saving love. Mendenhall, Mississippi, is no exception. Today, and for the last 35 years, the Mendenhall Bible Church (MBC) and its outreach arm, The Mendenhall Ministries (TMM), have crossed artificial economic, spiritual, and racial barriers in rural Mississippi with a message of hope rooted in biblical reconciliation and personal responsibility.

The Mendenhall Ministries (TMM) is a holistic church organization in a small rural community. In addition to their normal activities through Mendenhall Bible Church, outreach is provided to the community with programs supporting a preschool and an elementary school. TMM is also involved in a housing program which supports elderly citizens and those with limited income, helping them maintain adequate living environments. Our relationship with Mendenhall goes back for years through the hard work and dedication of HPC's Christian Education Director, Margaret Rhine. Members of Highlands Presbyterian Church have responded to the many needs that followed the destruction of Hurricane Katrina through frequent mission trips to help rebuild the community. Highlands Youth and Adult groups, along with friends of Mendenhall from surrounding communities, also participate in a summer mission trip on an annual basis. For more information about how you can help support The Mendenhall Ministries or become a part of the summer trip initiative, please contact Margaret Rhine, DCE, at (708) 246-1911.
